Gonila Hassnain – born and raised in Lahore – is a freelance journalist from London – the United Kingdom. Working since 2004, her main beats or areas of interests for reporting are human rights, women rights and rights of religious and ethnic minorities, and social and political issues. She received several awards for the best reporting. Earning Master’s in Mass Communications from the School of Communication Studies in Lahore, Gonila Hassnain is alumni of Chevening Fellowship for Asia Journalists, and ICFJ for US-PAK Journalism Partnership Program, and Fellow of the Asian Journalism Fellowship at the National University of Singapore. She is member of the Lahore Press Club, and the Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) – a part of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ).
